Web3 Gaming – Could This Be Crypto’s Next Big Sector?

by | Aug 18, 2023 | Investments, News | 0 comments

Last month, VCs (Venture Capitalists) invested over $150 million in the Metaverse sector, according to a report by Cryptonary.

Also, the report shows that Metaverse projects have attracted almost three times more investments than DeFi.

But what is it about the Metaverse that is attracting VCs?

I’ll tell you: it’s WEB3 GAMING!

Below, I will unravel what Web3 is and why investors are rushing to invest in it.

Web3 Gaming – Why It Has Become Investors’ Fave

Web3 gaming is a type of gaming that uses blockchain technology to create a more engaging experience for players.

Unlike traditional games, in Web3 games, players own their in-game assets, which can be sold on decentralized exchanges

This gives players more control over their gaming experience and allows them to earn real money.

This may be the biggest crypto sector in the coming months for 3 reasons.

First, the global gaming market is very big.

It is now worth over $175 billion, and it’s expected to grow to over $260 billion by 2025.

Second, the number of gamers who are familiar with blockchain technology is growing rapidly.

A recent survey found that over 50% of gamers are interested in playing blockchain games. (Reference)

Third, Web3 games offer several advantages over traditional games, such as:

1. They grant players ownership rights.

2. They are transparent, and

3. Web3 games are designed to be interoperable.

These reasons show that the Web3 gaming sector has a strong potential for success that VCs cannot resist.

And they have started committing money to this space.

I’ll now show you 3 VC-backed Web3 gaming projects that look very promising.

But before we dive into that, we are organizing a compound interest futures challenge.
